Blog Assignment #11
Little Kids...Big PotentialMs.Cassidy's first grade class is where I want my children to learn. These kids are learning how to do so much at a young age. My favorite thing about Ms. Cassidy's approach to teach children how to blog and use the internet are her safety rules. She only lets the children post their first name, no last names. Also if their are any pictures posted they are not to have the child's name attached to them. These are great ways to teach children how to use these tools safely. I also like how she encourages her students to only leave positive comments on others blogs, as to not hurt anyone's feelings. I think that this is such a great opportunity for these children and wish that more young children had these same chances.

ReplyDeleteI think the main reason why Ms. Cassidy didn't put the students name on their picture was to keep them safe from internet predators. What are some other things in her classroom that you liked from the video?

ReplyDeleteI also thought it was really important for the students to learn that simple lesson about only leaving positive comments on other's blogs. This is a great foundation for when they become more active webizens on how to be responsible on the internet. Also, I love the colors on your blog. They're so fun!
